A lot has been happening in the life of Chloe Gow-Jarrett and it’s ALL been awesome.
I love my job – I head up the Retail Training department at lululemon and we are on FIRE! My amazing team is flexing their strategic muscles in new exciting ways. The first thing I do when my phone wakes me up in the morning is take stock of the meetings for the day. Lately, each and every single one of them has me excited.
Last week I got to head to Atlanta to go work with Kirsten at a new store opening. I love to travel across the country to meet incredible new lululemon employees.
Our new home is a dream. We moved in a week and a half ago and are on the hunt for new furniture. Any spare moment is spent googling, planning and measuring. Last weekend we bought a dining room table that extends to fit 18 people at maximum capacity! Time for a big potluck!
I caught a cold somewhere after my grandma’s funeral and packing our house up to move. I ignored it. I dug into work and forgot to plan time in my schedule to have lunch breaks, or even unstructured time without meetings. I flew across the country and then spent my only day off running errands for our new house.
Finally, with swollen glands and crusty morning eyes I decided to call it. There was no good day for me to take a sick day, but my body was letting me know it was time to SLOW down.
What I realized is that I have to watch for balance even when I’m loving life. Even when the busy is the best kind of busy, I have to listen to what my body is telling me. I don’t lose balance only when I’m stressed or anxious; balance is tenuous even when I’m excited and engaged.
XO Chlo
